Daily Doodle: Okay so, when I was looking for refs for my recent Zim doodle, I ran across this absolutely fabulous piece of headwear: a GIR hat! The second I saw this, I knew: Molly, from Runaways, HAD to be drawn in this hat.
By the way, if you have not read Runaways, you kind of should, at least the first two volumes. There are issues (oh boy!) but it is definitely fun and actually a pretty fabulous intro to American superhero comics for the uninitiated. Molly (aka PRINCESS POWERFUL) is AWESOMEPANTS.
Anyway, uh. So I've been meaning to draw that for the past two days and failing due to faily time constraints. And then I was reminded that today will be my 100th day of daily doodles! I figured this would be a cute way to celebrate, and moved the project to today.
I realized as I was working on this that I have done fandom hat transplants before: I've drawn Zoro from One Piece wearing Jayne's hat from Firefly. In a hilarious coincidence, that was the doodle that birthed my original and defunct daily doodle meme, while this Molly/GIR marks the 100th doodle of the new meme, still going strong. I think I need to start a hat crossover series XD
Anyway so! Today is my 100th day of daily doodles! I think that is pretty neat. The below doodle is really nothing special, but I know that before I started this project I would never have thought I could just toss something like this off in a fraction of a day? There are flaws, of course, but I had fun, I like this idea, and I wish I'd had time to colour! Maybe this weekend =)
I feel like I should have more to say about this project, and how I think my progress is... but the truth is, I'm still learning and still trying to improve, and that is what I think is important. There have been many other people who have also commented a lot or given especially awesome comments, and basically the only reason I'm not listing EVERYONE is because it is over an hour past my bedtime, god, I'm so sorry guys XD
I also want to apologize so, so much to everyone who has generously commented and has not been replied to! I'm very sorry, I've been horribly busy, but I've been trying to do comment sweeps at least once a week! So, please just know that I appreciate your comments very much, and will try to respond as soon as I can!
Incidentally, today also marks one month of daily words, as I started that on Aug 31. Cool =)
