Daily Doodle: Really wanted to draw something for Jak and Daxter canon today and I tell you what, I had the HARDEST time deciding between Jak and Ashelin. Hot guy...? Hot girl...?
I ended up going with Jak, but mostly because I saw this pieces of art by character designer Bob Rafei, which contains the three main female characters— including Tess with huge gun. This reminded me of that awesome prevalence of shots of chicks that tries to show both ass and tits even though they are on opposite sides of the body, causing the woman to twist totally unnaturally for our viewing pleasure. (To Rafei's credit Tess isn't doing it nearly as bad as most such pics, with just a little side-boob, and also it is Tess and it's Jak canon which is pretty much made of fan-service cheesy cheesecake goodness <3)
So, uh. I figured an ass shot of Jak with big gun would be pretty appropriate XD
I've been rubbish at keeping to my own rules this week (I spent 45 mins on this).... but I also think that might actually be okay. I've been doing daily drawings for a month, and I think it might be time to ease up on myself a little bit and let myself explore whatever I want on a given day. I don't mean stop doing something daily, but just let it be whatever it will be. I've shown myself I can throw up totally doodle-tastic crap, which was one of the points of the exercise. As long as I still DO quick 10-15 min sketches as well as stuff that takes longer, I think I'm cool. Right?
Oh, PS, I realized after upload that this should be rotated like 3 degrees clockwise for the physics to work XD Also I started out trying to copy Rafei's thicker outside lines/thinner inside lines thing around the head, which I did first, and then was like fuuuuuuuck taking too long and totally failed afterwards. AND! I actually TRIED on the gun -- first weapon/accessory to actually not be 100% crap, only like 50%.
