A FIT OF IMPATIENCE
Feb. 14th, 2009 08:34 pmOKAY.
So. I dropped a class and now have more free time. Instead of using ALL of it to write my thesis, I have been siphoning off INAPPROPRIATE AMOUNTS of it into writing.
Specifically, Clarion, an FFX story about Braska. I started that story for
ff_exchange and got the first part done and posted for that round. This winter break, I picked up writing again after a school-eats-my-free-time hiatus.
Then! Then this last week
bottle_of_shine urged me into joining
ff_kissbattle and then
owlmoose awesomely filled one of my FFX requests and now OH MY GOD I WANT TO DO FANDOM AGAIN. I want to draaaaaaw. I want to wriiiiite.
I WANT TO FINISH CLARION.
Here's the deal guys. Clarion has three parts. Part I is what I did two years ago. When I picked up Clarion again two months ago, I gave it a small face-lift. Then I wrote the other two parts. The story is 32,000 words at last count. And it still missing about 3,000 that need to be fleshed out in the final edit. And who knows what will happen to it in beta!
The first draft is done. The beta draft is almost there. The first part is completely done. The second part is done minus final spellcheck. The third part's big edit is about 3/4 done.
The story is... all gen. It's about Braska. Not quite pilgrimage fic, I think, though it covers that period; it's too much centered on Braska. And aeons. Boy are there aeons! I didn't think I had that much aeon meta in me! (Why would I think a silly thing like that? I always have meta in me, shouldn't I know that?) Anyway, um. It's going to be 35,000 frikkin' words about Braska. I THINK I HAVE A PROBLEM. (Okay, Yuna and Auron and Jecht are involved of course but you read it and tell me it's not ALL ABOUT BRASKA. And Bahamut. Boy Bahamut, you've been a laugh a minute, I tell you what! And Shiva you are a riot. We should go bowling.)
I AM SO IMPATIENT TO FINISH AND POST.
That is pretty much my reason for posting. Haha, I really needed to um. Vent some enthusiasm. Yeah, enthusiasm.
God why does editing take forever? Maybe because it's the length of a novella, hm, hm???
