You remember that great series of books? Over Sea, Under Stone; The Dark Is Rising; Greenwitch; The Grey King; and Silver on the Tree?

What? You don't?! Shame on you! Run your butt down to the library and read it, or buy the paperback boxed set of all five books for a super cheap $17. It's worth every penny of your money and every second of your time. They're fantastic books.

Done reading them/have read them? GOOD. Listen up! The ever-wonderful [livejournal.com profile] twilightsrain, comm-creating wonder and fandom mommy extraordinaire, has created a wonderful community for The Dark Is Rising fans:

Art, fic, and any other kind of media are welcome, as is meta-riffic dicussion!

In addition, there is currently a fandom-wide fanwork-a-thon in progress. Check it out!
So! [livejournal.com profile] bottle_of_shine, [livejournal.com profile] first_seventhe and I have been working our BUTTS off on [livejournal.com profile] ff_exchange. We tried really, really hard to get match everyone with requests they'd like, and so far it seems like people have been mostly happy! Which is so fantastic and makes us all really really happy. There have been a couple of hiccups, but overall we're all pleasantly surprised by how well the first round is going!

Oh god I really need to make the comm's layout less ugly but I don't have TIME >.>

And now, to the wonderful person who's making my gift!

First of all, thank you SO much for signing up for the exchange! I hope you have a great time =D

As for my prompts! Well, in general I am not too picky with what direction fics take, though character insight and interesting takes on characters make me squee pretty hard. I love all the characters in my requests very much, and as long as they're themselves in the story I'm pretty much guaranteed to be a happy camper. My prompts mostly seem to lend themselves to relatively light-hearted stories, but I'm a huge fan of irony and will love hard on fics that are about happy times but subtly hint at, well, the frankly tragic fates that befall a lot of these characters. Mostly I love anything where characters interact with each other a lot, and I'm happy with any rating!

Thanks very much, and I hope you enjoy writing for my prompts! I look forward to seeing the result very much =D
