Why you should never pay me a compliment

So, because I operate out of a FATHOMLESS WELL OF INSECURITY, I had a big freakout today over OH MY GOD I'M SUCH A HACK, WHAT IN THE WORLD AM I DOING TRYING TO WRITE/DRAW/BREATHE. My FFEX gift, combined with the incredible number of talented people that surround me, intimidated me past the breaking point, and I had one of my retarded little crises where I refuse to work on anything because whatever I make will be AWFUL FER SURE.

When I get like that I turn into a complete idiot that nobody can reason with. Considering I only have about 3,000 words of FFEX gift and I need, oh, 15,000 more, I don't really have time to melt into a puddle of low self esteem XD

Well.... I just wanted to thank bottle_of_shine and first_seventhe for putting up with the senseless sloshing of my haywire brain chemistry. You guys realy helped.

Unfortunately for you, as a result, I am now seething with ideas for stories I've been meaning to start, finish, or simply pick up.

• Avatar - Aegis of Maybes: OH GOOD GOD finally a breakthrough on this Jet/Zuko monster! I had been uncomfortable with the direction this one was going, but I am finally okay with it and even know how I can bring out a theme that was getting lost. YESSSSS. And it's ALMOST DONE. I can ALMOST PUBLISH IT.


• FFIX - Revenant: I got a TON of ideas for Revenant, my FFIX creepy Zidane-centric thing. I REALLY like this story and I've been very hesitant with it because it's difficult -- interaction between a LOT of party members, and a lot of mood and setting that I wasn't confident about but... now I feel better and I just smoothed out a LOT of how this should go down in my head. Excellent.


• FFX - Walk the Widening Spiral: Would you believe that I finally thought of a goddamn title for my big fat 70,000 word FFX pre-canon pilgrimage fic? The idea is that widening spirals (and spirals are, um, only a little important in FFX) eventually escape their boundaries. So this title may be 100% retarded, BUT AT LEAST IT'S A TITLE. If you have feedback or ideas, though, you're uh, only a LOT welcome >.>


• Kingdom Hearts - Secondhand Resonance: Ho ho! I now have a PLAN. This comes from being reassured that my mood and narration aren't complete crap!


• One Piece - Writ in Stone (An Infinity of Legacies): This is another story I REALLY like the ideas for but could just NOT pin down the connections well enough. I finally worked out where I want to go with this. I am SO happy. It's about a fourth done and should be about 10,000, and now I actually FEEL GOOD about it.


• One Piece - Indelible: This Iceburg and Franky gen story (yes, you read that right, I CAN resist the slash) centered around Iceburg's tattoos has been sitting in the back of my head forever and I just couldn't put my finger of how I wanted it to go. I FINALLY HAVE IT.


• One Piece - Keys to Armageddon: I have been secretly agonizing over this Franky/Robin thing. A plot point finally clicked. Yessssss.


• One Piece - Undertow: LEAPS AND BOUNDS on this Iceburg/Robin piece. LEAPS AND BOUNDS. I FINALLY found the connections I wanted. FINALLY. Plus bonus Sanji!


• One Piece - Sin and Skin: Even if I'm still wishy-washy on the title, I have finally figured out how to handle the backstory without huge chunks of exposition and how to NOT make this a soap opera. I am SO HAPPY. This story is ONE OF MY BABIES.


• One Piece - The Gubernatorial Adventures of Tyrannosaurus Mouse: Saw fanart today that NAILED this for me. Finally.

There's even a new story I got an idea for today, from One Piece: Fish Out of Season. Usopp-centric, possibly with slightly Nami/Usoppish overtones. I hope bottle_of_shine is pleased with this development!

There are SO MANY MORE STORIES that I didn't make any progress on today (and incidentally you can see the ones I mentioned in there too, though it needs updating), but this was a SWARM of little epiphanies. I am SO PLEASED.

So it seems, uh. After I finish my FEEX gift I will have plenty to work on >.>
