[Daily Doodle] Winry from Fullmetal Alchemist

There have been two major rule changes in my writing project! Both of which I am way too tired to discuss tonight XD Will try tomorrow

Daily Doodle: I seem to be in a "girls kicking ass" mood, which is fine by me.

Anyway, I enjoy Winry and I especially enjoy her being strong and willing to beat Ed up when he totally deserves it. So the vaguely defined thing she is sitting on is probably Ed. I'm less happy with this one than I've been with my other recent girly doodles -- it's very rough, because I am frankly too tired to clean it up.

However! This makes it a good opportunity for critique, because I DO want to clean it up, and would love to correct it at the same time. I as usual (lately) can't seem to manage legs, and I can't figure out what's off about her face. And a bunch of other small things I am too tired to pick at. Have at, I guess? =D

I really enjoy her! I think I've figured out a little of what's wrong with her face, so I hope I can clean this up and make it actually look like Winry XD

I'll agree with the commenter on your lj; don't obscure her fist. Something that can beat a person into squiggles should be highlighted!

Haha, I am replying here first although logically I should reply at LJ and then point you to my response there. BUT I AM A CREATURE OF HABIT.

Uh anyway, re: her first -- I was not actually trying to cover it up -- generally what I do is draw everything that's underneath on one layer, even if it might be covered up later, and then draw stuff like hair and flying shit on a different layer. Then I erase where needed. You can see my first-scribble in the undersketch I think.

FOR ALL THAT THOUGH I agree with you. Her hand should be a focus! I need to move her hair or it looks TOTALLY WEIRD!
