Daily Doodle: Sorry guys, didn't have time to draw at work again! Just a horse reffed from a photo, something quick and painless. Hilarious: this marks my 50th daily doodle! Huh! Didn't realize that until I'd uploaded it. Time: 13 mins
I think you did a really great job with the head especially, which is the part that always gives me massive amounts of trouble, and the legs, although the back legs look really....odd for a horse that's mid-stride, though maybe that's the photograph (I would expect one of them to be extended farther back.) Also I have to wonder what breed of horse this is, to have such a long mane--Percherons do, but they don't look (build-wise) like this one.
HAHA MY TWELVE-YEAR-OLD HORSE-NERD SELF, I show you her. Uh.
Heyyy good to have you back! I hope you had a good trip!
Sadly, my photo ref did not specify the breed of horse. I thought the gait looked a bit odd in the photo as well, but I (a) decided it would be fun and (b) was too lazy/tired to find another good ref =P
Although, true story, I often have a LOT of trouble with the back legs of horses. Like, I actually used to draw a lot of horses and back legs have always confounded me. So it's possible that my general hing-leg-fail is attributing to the stride-what here XD
Haha, when I had more time/monies I used to ride. Do you ride?
I did when I was in grade school! I didn't get anywhere too impressive with it, but I love doing it. I've been looking for a stable nearby here that doesn't suck (all the reviews on the one closest to me say the barn is dirty even for a barn, and that the instructors are ass, so I'm not that keen on pursuing it.)
