Fanfic | Drabbles

Okay, I admit it, I write drabbles, too. I always thought I was too wordy and long-winded to, but it turns out that I've written more of these than I thought. Some of these are quite old -- in fact, this contains my very first piece of fanfic, all the way from 2004. And guess what -- it's a Trigun drabble, from before I knew what a drabbele was. That's right. Trigun.

Anyway. These days I usually try to make my drabbles be exactly 100 words, since I think that a specific number of words is part of their point as a writing exercise. However, these days I fail a lot, and my older drabbles are from before I really thought about my writing much.

Final Fantasy IX (so underappreciated)
A Light of Truer Blue (January, 2007)	[livejournal] (mine) [livejournal] ff_100	Characters/Pairings: Vivi, Zidane Rating: G Spoilers: Through the end of the game. Length: 138/300 (134 fic + 162 canon = 300) Notes: Written for FFIX:"The roads we walk" challenge at ff_100. This drabble uses the entirety of what I believe to be Vivi's narration from the very end of the game. I really wanted to set this up as a kind of dialogue, though -- more specifically, as if Zidane was reading a note Vivi left and thinking about it as he read -- so this seemed necessary.

Seymour returns to Baaj Temple to claim the power his mother left him. Dedicated to animecrush, her remarkable Seymour fic, More Full of Weeping, and her inspired use of Yeats' "The Stolen Child".
Moments of Regret: Ascending Spiral Heavy Shit Old Friends (January, 2007)	[livejournal] (mine) [livejournal] ff_100	Characters/Pairings: Auron, Braska, Jecht Rating: PG-13 Spoilers: Through the end of the game. Length: 129 + 178 + 125 = 432 Notes: A triple drabble I started for the ff_100 FFX/Regret challenge but got frustrated and dropped for a while. I came back, edited it, restructured it to fit both themes (ff_100 and pyre_flies's "Moment in time"), and finished the last part, and now I'm mostly satisfied.

I'm not sure how I feel about this one anymore, but I still like the idea.
