ah, the voice in this. I love all the layers, as your note said, and I love the unreliability of Vossler--the slow slide from loyalty to treachery. I think you captured very well his need for control (there is a song that is totally Vossler -> Ashe, called "Let Me Be Your Armor" by Assemblage 23) and the way that protection becomes control for him. Vossler was not built to lead, not truly, and I like the way you made that clear with his envy of Rasler's brilliance, his fury at Basch's betrayal. It's not Ashe that Basch betrayed, really; it's Vossler, because he failed to set an example.
