Oh gosh, typos! How embarrassing! I combed over this thing so hard, and so did two other people! I know at least one typo/mistake will ALWAYS slip through, but it's still... XD Feel free to point any out? I actually found and fixed one right after reading your comment >.>
The voices! All the characters! I have never juggled this many POVs and gosh, it made me so nervous. If there were any particular places where the transitions between them didn't work, I'd love to hear about them, just to learn for next time I try something this crazy =)
The short paragraphs thing -- it's good to know that it doesn't work for some people! It might be a preference thing, as you say -- me, I get kinda lost in hugely long paragraphs, so this just might be my short attention span coming through! XD
But often, I think I use whitespace... hm. Well. I think sometimes I use whitespace effectively, and sometimes I use it as a crutch. I tend to put stuff I think should be extra-oompf on its own line, just to make super sure the reader gets it. Maybe if I had more confidence in my writing, and/or more ability to just punch up my words, I would be more willing to leave the whitespace alone and let the words speak for themselves?
Sometimes I do like to use whitespace just for uh, "artistic" purposes, though I'm not sure any of that happened here.
As for gameplay meta! HAHA A WEAKNESS OF MINE. I like trying to make worlds feel like people rally live in them, you know? I'm not in any way sure I'm all that ace at it myself, but I love it when people flesh out game worlds to the point where it really feels like you know how people live there, what it's like to be immersed in that world. If any of this makes sense.
Anyway uh, so I just! Like doing that stuff, and hope it feels natural rather than all shoehorned in.
Oh gosh, I think that healing thing was probably inspired by coloredink's fabulous Four and Twenty Blackbirds. I tend to speculate on stuff like that, idly, just because, but I think it was that story that cemented for me how it would work in XII-verse specifically? Oh man, I need to add this to my credits somewhere!
Anyway, thank you SO much for reading! I know it's way, way long, and maybe also not your cup of tea? But I appreciate the feedback, I do. So! Thank you =D
