I DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH WORDS TO GIVE YOU THE ENORMITY OF MY LOVE. This was EXACTLY PERFECT AND WHAT I WANTED. The voices are all perfect, the setting is all perfect, the politics are all perfect, the self-discovery and growth are all perfect, and the romance is all perfect. <3333 Seriously, Ira, I love this so hard. The only thing that could possibly make it better is the sequel where they sex each other all the time. For reals.

I love how hard Basch tries to fill Noah's armor and how he feels he can't do it. I love Vaan's resentment, and even more PENELO'S resentment. I thought it was a really interesting choice to keep Ashe, Balthier, and Fran in the background. Also, Tomaj. <3

Penelo was really perfect. She is my favorite female character from the game, so I'm really happy she found a balance between telling Vaan things for his own good and being crazy yenta which is often what happens to female characters in fic. I loved that she could have her feelings and still treat Noah like a human being. They're all so close to my head canon here, it's amazing.

And now, immediate response theater. Here are the thoughts I wrote down while I was reading:

God, from the beginning, when they're all healing him, I started to choke up.

All the dog metaphors... oh my babies. <3333

And the tone is so perfect for the setting. I WOULD WRITE FF12 IF I COULD DO IT LIKE THIS.

omg, crying again. "You held my life in your hands. Only call me, and I will be your dog, too."

Vaan, trying to matter all the time, kills me. *pets him*

N'awwwwww of course Vaan has to make the first move. <33333333

I can only say again how much I loved this fic and how utterly blown away I am by it's awesomeness. Thank you SO MUCH. <3
