Oh God. I have three weeks' worth of grading to catch up on. And some of the handwriting hurts me. It hurts me deep inside.

Also, it disturbs my sense of what is right in the world when some of the worst handwriters get some of the best grades.

What kind of work are you grading? Is it something that you can require to be typed? Or LaTeX'd?

'cause lots of smart people have horrible handwriting. I know I do.

I'm grading physics assignments. Yes, still a dork.

Well, I can't really require anything of them. I can leave them notes if their work is very very sloppy to the point of illegibility and then take points off if they don't improve.

I had this one kid last quarter who LaTex'd his work, which was both nice and kind of... depressing. =P

Depressing for the grader and depressing for the person doing the LaTeXing. Bloody can't stand it.

That's why I teach CS. I never have to even pretend to encounter their handwritings :p
